PRESS ADVISORY: Public Access Task Force
Recommendations from the three
committees of the Judicial Branch’s Public Access Task Force
will be presented at a meeting of the full task force on
Thursday, Aug. 10, 2006, at 1:30 p.m.
in the Supreme Court courtroom, located at 231
Capitol Ave. in Hartford.
Other information regarding the
task force is available through the
Task Force’s web page.
Senior Associate Justice David M.
Borden established the task force in May 2006 to make concrete
recommendations for the maximum degree of public access to the
courts, consistent with the needs of the courts in discharging
their core functions of adjudicating and managing cases. Since
then, the committees – Administrative Records and Meetings,
Access to Court Records, and Access to Judicial Proceedings –
have been meeting regularly to develop recommendations.
The full task force has a
deadline of Sept. 15th to submit recommendations to
Justice Borden.
