Pool
Advisory in
State of Connecticut
vs. Michael Skakel
The Judicial Branch will allow pool
arrangements for photos/videotape at two locations outside of the Norwalk
Superior Courthouse on Aug. 28, 2002, when sentencing is scheduled to occur
in the case of State of Connecticut vs. Michael Skakel. The
arrangement will remain in place for as long as the proceeding lasts.
Two photographers -- one print, one TV --
will be allowed to position them-selves in an area
near the sally port behind the courthouse. The Chief Judicial Marshal will
designate the setup spot. The Associated Press will provide the print pool
photographer and WFSB Channel 3 will provide the TV camera operator.
In front of the courthouse, the AP will
provide the pool photographer for the print media. WVIT Channel 30 will
provide the TV camera operator.
Credentialed news media organizations are
expected to abide by these rules and designations, and both pool positions
will be forfeited if any violation or unresolvable dispute arises.
In accordance with the policy adopted for the
trial, no news media representative will be allowed to conduct interviews
beyond the designated media pen that was in place during the trial and jury
selection.
