Software registration for the February 2020 CT bar examination will open on January 6, 2020 and will close at 4PM on January 31, 2020. When registration opens, all applicants will receive an email from barexam@jud.ct.gov at the email address provided in their application with the ID and password needed to register their laptop. Applicants must register, download the exam files and complete the mock exam by the deadline. If you do not receive an email by noon on the date that registration opens, please check your spam/junk folder prior to contacting our office. Late registrations will not be permitted applicants who fail to register by the deadline will handwrite the examination.

This registration period is for software that is specific to the February 2020 Connecticut bar examination. Prior versions cannot be used for the February 2020 Connecticut bar examination

The fee of $125 must be paid to ExamSoft directly at the time of registration. The fee is nonrefundable and nontransferable

Minimum System Requirements
In order to use a laptop, it will need to meet the minimum system requirements set by ExamSoft External website  you are leaving the Connecticut Judicial Branch website.

Exam Day Procedures
Applicants who properly register may use their laptops for the Multistate Performance Test (MPT) and Multistate Essay Examination (MEE). Applicants using laptops on the examination will be admitted to the examination room on Tuesday, February 25, 2020, beginning at 8:15AM to set up their laptop computers. All applicants using a laptop will be required to sign an acknowledgement statement at the examination site prior to the commencement of the examination.

Please note that bags are not allowed in the examination room. Due to security restrictions at the examination site, any items left outside the examination room will be confiscated. Proctors are not permitted to hold any items for any applicant.

Applicants may use an external mouse and/or keyboard.

Laptop computers must remain in the examination room for the entire duration of the examination, including during the lunch break. If an applicant completes the afternoon session of the examination early, he or she must return after the conclusion of the afternoon session of the examination to retrieve his or her laptop.

Uploading of Answer Files
All February 2020 CT bar examination files must be uploaded no later than 10AM on Thursday, February 27, 2020. Answers not uploaded by the deadline will receive a grade of zero. Late uploads will not be permitted.

Internet connection will not be provided at the examination site. It is the applicants responsibility to find an internet connection and ensure that all answer files are uploaded by the deadline.

During the examination, ExamSoft site engineers will be on site to provide limited technical assistance.
