Child Protection Mediation Program

What is Child Protection Mediation (CPM)?
Child Protection Mediation is a voluntary program designed to assist families and other parties to resolve disputes in child protection matters in the Superior Court for Juvenile Matters. Any child protection case at any stage in the case may be referred to CPM.

Who are the Mediators?
The mediation session is run by a team of two mediators. Mediators do not take sides and do not decide who is right and wrong. They assist families and others to come to a fair and voluntary agreement. Mediators are court services officers, private attorneys and mental health professionals. They receive extensive training, mentoring and supervision.
