JUROR STICKERS

Juror stickers will be distributed to you upon arrival.  Stickers must be worn at all times while you are in or about the courthouse.  Stickers must be returned to the Jury Service Assistant (JSA) before leaving the courthouse at the end of the day.

COURTHOUSE

Room 400 of the fourth floor of the New Britain Superior Court is for jurors.  Jurors must avoid all other areas of the courthouse including courtrooms and juror waiting rooms unless you are assigned to them.

COFFEE / TEA

Coffee (regular and decaf) and tea is provided free of charge

SMOKING

Smoking is allowed outside of the building during break. Jurors must be accompanied by court personnel.

QUIET LOUNGE

There is a quiet room available for jurors in the jury area on the fourth floor.

ELEVATORS

Jurors must be accompanied by court personnel when using the elevator, except during the lunch hour, dismissal and going to the Snack Bar.

STAIRWAY

Jurors must be accompanied by court personnel when using the stairway.

RESTROOMS

Restrooms are located in the jury area.

TELEVISIONS

All programs are available for your viewing except for the news.  Please change the station if news comes on.

PUBLIC PAY TELEPHONES

Pay telephones are available in the jury area. There is also a telephone available for local calls only.

LUNCH

Lunch is between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.  Lunch will be announced by the JSA.  JSA will explain area food locations that are available along with menu board. There is also a snack bar located in the courthouse. If you choose to bring a lunch, there is a refrigerator and a microwave.

CHANGE MACHINE

We DO NOT have a change machine.

VENDING MACHINES

Vending machines are located in the jury area.  There is a soda and snack machine.  In addition, there is also a Snack Bar located in the court.  PLEASE BRING CHANGE!!!

CELL PHONES/ BEEPERS/LAPTOPS/RADIO DEVICES, ETC.

Jurors may not bring disruptive items into the courthouse.  A disruptive item includes, but is not limited to, the following:  a radio, boom box, portable television, compact disc player/recorder, cassette player/recorder, or any cell phone equipped with a digital camera.  If you have any questions regarding what to bring, contact Jury Administration at 1-800-842-8175.

ATTENDANCE CERTIFICATES

Jurors receiving credit for serving will be mailed a Certificate of Recognition of Juror Service.
