* Please note that law students will no longer be placed directly with judges, however, they will have the opportunity to talk with judges and to observe proceedings.
Interns placed at the Court Support Services Center for Best Practices will assist staff in the following areas: data collection, case file review (electronic or hard copy), preparing surveys, conducting interviews, reviewing archival records, reviewing literature, creating databases, analyzing data (ad-hoc and routine), and writing reports of research findings. The interns will have the opportunity to interact with criminal justice professionals.
Interns placed at the Court Support Services Division’s Human Resource Unit will assist staff with employee discipline, public complaints, employee complaints, grievances and performance evaluations.
Interns placed within the Information Technology Division or with the Court Support Services Division’s IT Unit will test the new development of websites and client server applications, review SQL databases to ensure the data has been updated correctly; create audio recordings and log notes to mimic courtroom activity; enter and track defects and resolutions found while testing; and aid in resolving defects when possible.
