The lawyers have informed me that they
expect the evidentiary portion of the trial to take <insert estimated number
of days>. That is only an estimate, and the trial may go for a longer or
shorter period of time. I will try my best to keep you informed during the
trial if any adjustments are expected.
Once the evidence is presented and the
case is presented to you for deliberations, the length of the deliberations will
depend on you.

During the trial, any communication
you wish to make with me must be in the form of a note, which will be read to
the lawyers and the parties and made a part of the record. If you have a
question, write it down and give it to the marshal or court officer who will
